TIG devices troubleshooting

On this page, you will find tips on solving minor problems with MIG/MAG welding equipment. Many issues, such as lack of power, connection problems, or incorrect settings, can be repaired independently without the need to send the device to a service center, which will save you time and costs.

Before starting the repair, make sure you have read the device's instruction manual, understand the manufacturer's safety recommendations, and have the necessary tools and repair skills.

Symptoms Ways to fix
Control panel does not light up, fan is not working, no output voltage 1. Make sure the switch is in the ON position
2. Check the protection and voltage in the network
3. Remove the cover and check the connection of all electrical plugs inside the device
Control panel lights up, fan is not working, no output voltage 1. Check if the device has been connected to a higher voltage network. If so, connect it to a 230V network and turn it on again
2. The power supply voltage is unstable and triggers the surge protection. Turn off the device for 2-3 minutes and turn it on again
3. Short switching on and off of the switch triggered the surge protection. Turn off the device for 2-3 minutes and turn it on again
4. Another failure occurred requiring repair by an authorized service center
Control panel lights up, fan is working, problems with arc ignition 1. Check the TIG holder, replace consumable parts if worn out
Control panel lights up, fan is working, arc ignites during welding 1. Check the clamps and correct electrical conductivity of the electrode and ground cables
2. Check the connection of the TIG holder to the device, pay attention to whether the pins in the socket are not broken or jammed.
3. Disassemble the TIG holder handle and check if the switch in the holder is working
Control panel lights up, fan is working, message appears on the display 1. The device has overheated. Wait a few minutes. After the LED goes off, continue welding
Unsatisfactory weld quality when welding with MMA method, electrode sticks to the welded material 1. Check the polarity of the welding cables connection.
2. Check if the electrode is not wet. Replace the electrode.
3. The welder is powered by a generator or through a long extension cord with a cable that is too small. Connect the device directly to the power grid.
Unsatisfactory weld quality when using the TIG welding method 1. Replace consumable parts. Change the tungsten electrode or gas cylinder to higher quality materials.
2. Check if the shielding gas is flowing with the appropriate intensity.
3. Check the gas supply hose, improve the connection of the hose to the fittings, and inspect the condition of the quick connectors.
4. Check the regulator at the cylinder valve.
